The TH20-09 caliber (65 hours of power reserve) drives the time data meticulously. This selfwinding movement measures short-cycle time to ¼ of a second and nestles inside a 44 mm-diameter grade 2 titanium case topped with a forged carbon fixed bezel featuring a tachymetric scale. The openworked dial flaunts brushed and grained finishes that center stage the relief-style scenography. Panda dial or reverse panda dial? The Geneva watchmaker deploys his creativity to juggle shades of natural mother-of-pearl to create new contrasts between light and shadow on a pair of diamond-set watches.

The Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona watch was originally designed for motor racers, to fit comfortably on drivers’ wrists when it was launched in 1963, but has learned to reinvent itself over time. Indeed, this emblematic model in the Rolex collections now boasts a more sophisticated style, as confirmed by the two models presented this year. The tachymeter scale on the bezel is replaced by a ribbon of 36 brilliants, steel by white gold, and the dial plays with natural mother-of-pearl to create a a contrast between light and shadow.

Like a color image in negative, the iridescent face of this duo elegantly redefines the terms “panda” and “reverse panda”: the three counters (small seconds at 6 o’clock, 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph totalizers at 3 and 6 o’clock respectively) are in black mother-of-pearl on a white background or, conversely, in white mother-of-pearl on a dark disc. To make the most of every reflection, the hour-circle features eight diamond hour-markers and three Chromalight applied ones that diffuse a bluish glow in the dark, swept by the central hour, minute and second hands. The case, 40mm in diameter and 11.90mm thick, is fitted with a screwed caseback, Triplock crown and pushers to guarantee water resistance to a depth of 100m. It houses caliber 4131, a high-performance automatic movement unveiled in 2023 that provides a substantial 3-day energy reserve when fully wound.

The linchpin of the Privé collection, which brings together creations with atypical silhouettes, the shaped watch from the Parisian house imagined in 1912 emerges from its hibernating reserve to impose its stylistic stamp on the watchmaking landscape.

Cartier watchmaking is above all a story of shapes, shapes often seen as singular in a world populated by round watches. The Tortue Chronographe Monopoussoir is making a comeback in the Privé collection that gathers creations with atypical silhouettes, sometimes inspired by ancient models and produced in very small series. Long a favorite with collectors in particular, this timepiece, whose contours evoke the protective breastplate worn by a tetrapod reptile on its belly, was imagined by Louis Cartier as early as 1912, and is coming out of its hibernation reserve this year.

The first version of this watch dates from 1928, the next… from 1998! In other words, the animal’s appearances are few and far between! For 2024, Cartier is presenting two versions, in platinum or white gold, each limited to just 200 pieces. Punctuated by a push-piece crown set with a cabochon sapphire or ruby, its curved case (43.7×34.8×10.2mm) has been slightly redesigned, its lugs lengthened and its profile refined. It houses the 1928 MC caliber, a new manual-winding movement specially developed for it, which is 4.3mm high, vibrates at the standard 4hz frequency and provides a 44-hour power reserve. Grained and lightly gilded or silvered opaline, housing black-lacquered or rhodium-plated Roman numerals, the dial curved with a railway track is marked by two azure counters, the small seconds at 9 o’clock and, at 3 o’clock, the minute totalizer powered by the central second hand. Its hollowed counterweight echoes the hollowed knob of the blued Breguet-type hour and minute hands.

On the occasion of its 270^th anniversary and almost three years after the success of a yellow gold version, the Manufacture is reissuing this creative symbol of the 1970s, this time in steel.

From 1755 to 2025, Vacheron Constantin has gathered more than two and a half centuries of mechanical creativity. 270 years, to be precise, and the celebrations that will take place over the next twelve months begin today with the presentation of the Historiques 222 watch, included in the collection that breathes new life into emblematic timepieces from the past. The model was originally designed in 1977 by Jorg Hysek to celebrate the 222^nd anniversary of the Geneva-based manufacture, hence its name. It was then presented in 2022 in a yellow gold version, with a new caliber and a few aesthetic alterations, which proved a huge success. This year, a new reissue, this time in steel, exalts the craze.

Faithful to its original look, the 37mm-diameter, 7.95mm-thick case, curved with a notched bezel, houses a yellow gold Maltese cross set at 5 o’clock. It merges perfectly with the hexagonal-link bracelet for enhanced ergonomics and fluidity once the watch is installed on the wrist.

The sapphire crystal caseback reveals a yellow gold oscillating weight marked “222“. This transmits the energy supplied by the gestures of the arm to power the caliber 2455/2, a 4Hz automatic movement that delivers 40 hours of power reserve and animates the various indications. Dressed in navy blue, the dial features hour-markers and two central baton-type hands in white gold, all highlighted with green-glowing Super-LumiNova®. A date indication completes the time information, set in a window at 3 o’clock.

The successful design of this iconic watch continues to weave its magic with this new dial color that comes with a host of benefits, i.e. when ultra-readability and elegance reign supreme.

In 2023, IWC rolled out a trump card for its collections with an up-to-the-minute reissue of one of its flagship models brought to life back in the 70s through can’t-do-without designer Gerald Genta’s inspirational imagination. The Ingenieur Automatic 40 is infused with the spirit of the original Ingenieur SL Reference 1832. In short, we discover a steel case featuring a revamped profile and finishes, but still topped with a bezel held in place with 5 screws. This holder stands out with its slimness as it’s but 10.8 mm thick and by the presence of a crown-protecting bridge. Alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces, also used on the links of the integrated bracelet equipped with a novel clasp, enhance the timepiece’s chic ‘n’ sporty personality.

The original checkerboard pattern still adorns the dial. After the previously showcased black, silvered and aqua-hued iterations, the collection expands as the year comes to a close with an elegant variation dressed in deep blue. As the World Championship events get underway, the brand showcases a limited-edition chronograph celebrating a major date in the Alpine ski calendar.

Longines has been present on ski slopes the world over since 1924 timing athletes’ runs. Thanks to this expertise, in 2006, the firm became the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper of the International Ski Federation (FIS). So, it’s only normal then for the winged-hourglass brand to accompany the 2024-2025 season races such as the FIS 48 ^th Alpine World Ski Championships organized from February 4 to 16, 2025 in the prestigious Saalbach resort in Austria. As a prelude to this key event, a Conquest Chrono Ski Edition has just been rolled out.

As per the firm’s tradition, time data reading is excellent in any conditions. The Roman jeweler and watchmaker continues its exploration into the realm of extreme finesse with a titanium piece as thin as a sheet of tissue paper and certified as a chronometer, adding a new record to its already impressive list of achievements.

From the challenge Bvlgari set itself a decade ago, which now represents a procession of world records, the most spectacular is usually yet to come. With each new arrival, it seems impossible to do better, to make something thinner, more complex, lighter… and yet… the Roman brand, whose watchmaking workshops are based in Switzerland, successfully continues its exploration of the realm of extreme finesse. The Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC watch represents yet another feat: it’s as thin as a sheet of tissue paper, yet carries chronometer certification that guarantees performance and reliability.

To achieve this feat, everything has been skillfully studied to eliminate the superfluous and find new ways to retain the essentials to operate the ultra-thin 1.50mm hand-wound BVL180 caliber developed in collaboration with Concepto. Thus, the tungsten carbide plate serves as both backplate and dial, on which are set the main mechanical elements (escapement at 7 o’clock, barrel at 8 o’clock) and single-hand counters (hours at 2 o’clock, minutes at 4 o’clock, small seconds at 5.30 o’clock). The gray-dominated whole is treated with different finishes to sector the time information and make it easier to read, while maintaining the monochrome fluidity that is the charm of the Octo Finissimo collection. The movement, which provides a 50-hour power reserve and has passed all the tests imposed by the Contrôle officiel suisse des chronomètres (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute or COSC), is framed by a sand-blasted titanium case 40mm in diameter and 1.70mm high, complemented by a bracelet with links machined from the same metal.

The Manufacture has chosen platinum, the “metal of kings”, to adorn its emblematic watch, which, in addition to the ballet of a tourbillon, displays both regular and solar time, as well as a perpetual calendar.

True to his pioneering spirit, Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747-1823) introduced platinum, then unknown in watchmaking, into the manufacture of his watches, first in 1780 for the oscillating weight, then for the case around a quarter century later. The metal, praised as much for its luminous gray hue as for its resistance to corrosion and scratches, continues its adventure within the Breguet collections, now adorning the emblematic Marine Equation Marchante 5887.

This timepiece symbolizes the technical power of the brand by combining several complications accompanied by the ballet of a tourbillon: the équation marchante and the perpetual calendar. The former simultaneously displays on the dark dial, decorated with a guilloché “waves” pattern, the difference between civil time (used in everyday life) and solar time (which is irregular) by means of two central hands, one with a hollowed-out knob and the other finished with a gold ring. The second acts like a mechanical diary, revealing the date (anchor-shaped arrow hand), day, month and leap years (apertures at 10:30 and 1:30). The complex regulator, meanwhile, dances freely in an opening at 5 o’clock. The self-winding 581 DPE caliber, whose peripheral weight is also in platinum, brings this array of functions to life, while providing a substantial 80-hour power reserve. It is housed in a case with a delicately fluted case middle measuring 43.9mm in diameter and 11.8mm thin.

Two limited editions flaunting elegant personalities, certified by the Poinçon de Genève (Geneva Seal), combine the manufacture’s know-how and the talent of métiers d’art craftspeople.

Vacheron Constantin‘s watchmakers draw their inspiration from Hellenic mythology, in particular, Chronos, the father of Time, to center stage a fascinating creation. The Les Cabinotiers Le Temps Divin watch literally conjures up the Greek god. Its 45 mm-diameter case, carved in rose gold and adorned with finely-sculptured friezes, takes on the role of a temple to protect an exceptional caliber, the 1990. A white-gold-fashioned variation, also hand-engraved around the sides, invites to discover an equally-stylish alternative.

This manual-winding movement, which first appeared in the up-to-the-minute Maître Cabinotier retrograde armillary tourbillon in 2016, breathes life into the same features but, this time round, in a decisively more traditional scenography. During the 60-hour cycle of power reserve delivered by this sophisticated movement, assembled using some 299 components, its bi-axial regulating device nestling in two aluminum cages whirls. As a reminder, its cylindrical balance spring is inspired by the work of Jacques-Frédéric Houriet, who invented it back in 1814. The duo of hour and minute hands ticks over a semi-circle decorated with Roman numerals over this same period. Once they’ve completed their respective journey, each flicks back to zero and starts their relentless dance of time again. What’s more, the sapphire-crystal caseback catches the gaze with its visible geometric-patterned guilloché-engraved bridges and mainplate. This harmonious decor illustrates that a fine watchmaking piece is to be delighted in from every perspective, down to the tiniest detail.

With this exclusive limited series rolled out in just 255 pieces, the two brands pursue their partnership rooted in legendary motor racing.

3,373 kilometers of tarmac, tracks and dust. From the word ‘go’ back in 1950, the Carrera Panamericana enjoyed astounding success. One hundred and thirty-two competitors took to the starting line in Mexico behind the wheel of racers created by illustrious automotive manufacturers of the times. One of them would take on this eloquent name for its production. As such, Carrera would become synonymous with prestige at Porsche. The rally came to an end in 1954 as it was deemed dangerous. In 1963, Heuer launched a chronograph which it also named Carrera, as a tribute to this mythical race. To revive the legend, the event kicked off again in the Mexican capital in a safe version in 1988. Thirty-six years on, the design of the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana imagined by TAG Heuer takes its inspiration from the stylistic details of the Porsche 550 Spyder which won the Pan-Am in its category.

In a nutshell, the dial conjures up the car’s wheel rims, the silver hues its bodywork and the yellow-lacquered hands and black counters take on the racer’s colors. In this hyper-engineering-styled scenography, a tourbillon whirls at 6 o’clock. This regulating device, epitomizing fine watchmaking, mingles brilliantly with the sporty look of the watch set off by a perforated calfskin strap. The 42 mm-diameter steel case adorned with a “Spyder” logo hosts the TH20-09 caliber. This highly-accurate selfwinding movement also stands out through its great endurance.
